Lesson 2 - Hearing God through his Holy Scripture

IT IS TRUE THAT MORE PEOPLE THAN NOT, DESIRE TO HEAR GOD’S VOICE WHEN THEY ARE FACED MAKING A DECISION. THEY NEED TO MAKE A CHOICE AND THEY THINK WHY CAN’T GOD JUST TALK TO ME AND LET ME KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT? AT TIMES, I HAVE EVEN SAID, “PLEASE WRITE IT IN BIG BLOCK RED LETTER SO I WILL KNOW IT IS YOU!
YOU MAY BE SOMEONE THAT TALKS TO GOD AND YOU ASK FOR HIS OPINION OR TO TALK TO YOU BUT YOU THINK IT IS JUST YOUR OWN THOUGHTS AND DESIRES THAT ARE TRYING TO LEAD YOU IN A PARTICULAR DIRECTION.
The main way that God speaks to us today is through His revealed, written Word, but I have found it to be true God speaks through many other varied ways and that is what this course is all about! It is about the ways God speaks to me and others I trust and I can understand him in various ways but His written word will not fail you and has never failed me.
Say for instance if someone is being tempted how can God’s word help them?
For all who are led by the Spirit, they are the sons of God!
Romans 8:14
In other words, If you or someone is thinking about cheating on their spouse and you don’t think it is a good thing but you are being tempted by the enemy and you say, Holy Spirit what should I do? He leads you to Romans 8:14 That temptation might be strong and might override you but you ask the Holy Spirit if I am your son or daughter, I need you, like now before I do something I will regret!
One time I knew a minister and there was this lady that would come to the church office to talk and this relationship developed and he was tempted but he said Holy Spirit lead me and he immediately picked up the phone and called a minister friend and said, “Please for the next month will you phone me at around 3pm every day! His ministry friend didn’t ask any questions but because he, too, was being led by the Spirit, he phoned his friend every day and when the said person came in he said, “Sorry, but I have to take this call! She left and came back the next day, and the good friend called again and the temptation was averted!
The Holy Spirit through God’s word gave this minister the answer! So, when you ask the Holy Spirit to lead you he will lead you into all truth and the scriptures can avert your destruction or give you the right answer when you are in need or someone else is in need.
This exercise will help you to help others and also yourself if used with the belief system that no matter what you are going through you will stick with God’s word for your life depends on it and the Holy Scriptures will never fail you or anyone else who takes it seriously!!
